What’s it all about?

Through the Riverbank Internship Program we intend to provide a life-giving experience that will fuel your passion for Jesus and the local church. We want to equip you for a lifetime of servant leadership. We want to build the next generation of Christian leaders by cultivating faith, providing experience in multiple internship opportunities, and forging character. The life-long friendships that develop during an internship are crucial to a young adult’s walk with God. This program is paving the way to build foundations centered on Christ before students enter into the next steps of their lives. There will be opportunities to help students connect, gain experience, find their calling, and grow in their relationship with God. You’ll gain valuable experience that will help you develop your vocational and leadership skills for your future, wherever God is calling you! 

We are all called to serve; however, full-time vocational ministry is certainly not for everyone. An internship is a great way to see if you are on the right track. If nothing else, it helps reaffirm your call to a specific area and gives you an appreciation for other areas of ministry. Just like in the corporate world, internships give you access to hands-on experience working alongside people who have been doing it for years. Working with leaders who know what has been proven to work for them in their context and what might not work is a great real-world learning experience!

FAQs

• How old do I have to be? Interns must be 13 years or older. We welcome high school students, college students, or young adults looking to learn and grow.
• How long are internships? Internships are typically semester based and mirror a typical school year (with a special summer internship).
• How many hours a week is the internship? Internships require a minimum commitment of 4 hours each week. There are opportunities to intern up to 20 hours each week.
• Do I have to attend Riverbank Church? No, you do not have to be a part of our church family before becoming an intern, although you must attend weekly worship experiences at Riverbank while interning.
• Will I be paid in this internship?  No, learning and experience will be your compensation. We do offer small travel and meal stipends in some rare instances.
